Lang: Academic Writing, ST 20/21, AJAKB

The course is designed for students of English at the Bachelor level. The aim of the course is to enhance the development of students‘ writing skills by providing theoretical guidelines, space for practice, and constructive criticism of their writing. Students will be instructed on issues crucial for successful production of academic texts, i.e. the characteristics of the target type of texts, the stages of the writing process, the techniques of brainstorming, the structuring of texts, editing, etc. The focus will be placed on the development of students‘ understanding of key concepts, micro skills and on the practice of their writing skills through the production of written texts. The students’ written performances will be scrutinized, and constructive criticism will be provided with reference to particular parts of their texts.
