Before using the learning platform:

  • Provide learners with the information for registering on the learning platform in advance. Especially when using the platform for the first time, a detailed printed information sheet on registration on the learning platform with the entry of the enrolment key during self-enrolment is recommended.
  • Allow sufficient time to familiarise yourself with the platform for the first time. Users may have questions and difficulties, especially when taking their first steps on the platform.
  • Present the platform, its structure and functions in a face-to-face or online session.
  • Clarify the organisational framework – Where can the work materials be found? How are the results evaluated? How is the blended learning phase organised? When/how does the teacher give feedback? etc.
  • The general information (a presentation to clarify the framework conditions or information on enrolment in the online course) can be prepared in advance by the teacher and then used in the next courses with minor changes.

While working on the learning platform:

  • Use the message forum, develop your own routine: first message to welcome the participants on the learning platform, introduction to the content of the new week or new learning module, summary of the results of the work after completing the individual modules, express praise and motivation in the messages, emphasise successes
  • Visualise the individual learning modules step-by-step. If the online room consists of several modules and they are all offered at once, this can be perceived as too much for the users. Working through the modules step by step can promote the experience of success through the feeling of progress and having completed the task.
  • Formulate clear tasks: pay attention to the task, explicitly formulate the necessity of the comments, state the planned processing time
  • Promote use of Moodle course room: e.g. make necessary materials from lessons available only on the learning platform
  • As a teacher in the role of tutor, actively comment on the participants' contributions, motivate discussion, exchange and expression of opinions
  • Create an overview of idioms that can be used for tutoring/feedback/comments.
  • Enable the interlinking of tasks from the online room with face-to-face work: e.g. thematise individual tasks/exercises as the basis for face-to-face work.

After the course:

  • Save the materials from the course.
  • Inform the learners how long the contents of the course room will be available.
  • Use the export function: The created learning module can be exported and reused as a template.
